Advantages to Chimney Sweep & Fireplace Cleaning
Get rid of creosote. When wood is burned, not all the smoke escapes from the chimney. Some will cool down and become solid, producing creosote. Sweeping the chimney removes this flammable creosote residue.
Remove bad smells. Creosote is corrosive to the flue tiles in the chimney and can cause unpleasant odors in your home.
Proper ventilation. Oil soot is less flammable than wood residues but can cause blockages that allow carbon monoxide and other fumes to back up into the living space of your home. We look for improperly sized flues and/or damaged chimneys. Leaves, birds, animals and other intruders are also known to cause blockages that inhibit proper airflow and draft of the chimney.
Peace of mind. With every chimney sweep, we inspect the fireplace first—from outside the home and inside—to make sure all components are clear and operating properly. Any and all findings are then documented and presented to the customer.
